Gelato is a cross between Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, named in homage to its sweet aroma. Also known as Larry Bird, Gelato (#33) was first cultivated in Northern California’s Bay Area and is derived from a deep bank of genetics created by the Cookie Family, the Sherbinskis family, and cultivator Mario Guzman.
The cultivators parted ways following its creation, and the cultivator who possesses the most “stable version” of Gelato genetics is up for debate. Cookies cultivates a few phenotypes and descendants of the strain named Gelato #42, Dolce Gelato, and a sun-grown Gelato. Sherbinskis grows four stabilized Gelato phenotypes in its rotation as well: Gelato #41 (Bacio Gelato), Gelato #43 (Gello Gelato), Gelato #47 (Mochi Gelato), and Gelato #49 (Acai Berry Gelato). Per Sherbinskis, the #33 phenotype is no longer in cultivation.
A creation of the iconic Cookies Fam genetics, founded by Berner and legendary grower Jigga, Biscotti is a tasty combination of their flagship GSC (formerly Girl Scout Cookies ), Gelato #25, and South Florida OG.
Biscotti is said to have a sweet and buttery aroma, translating into a slightly bitter taste reminiscent of coffee.
Known by many names, including Lemon Cake and Lemon Cheesecake, Lemon Pound Cake by Heavyweight Genetics is a combination of Lemon Skunk and Cheese. Those who wish to grow Lemon Pound Cake can expect an approximately nine-week flowering time and heavy outdoor yields.
Strawberry Haze, also referred to as Arjan’s Strawberry Haze, is a sativa-leaning cultivar named after its original creator, Arjan Roskam, a renowned cannabis cultivator and founder of the Netherlands-based Green House Seed Co. Boasting a complex lineage that reportedly involves a mix of Swiss Sativa, Northern Lights #5, Haze, and Kali Mist, Strawberry Haze first surfaced onto the market in the mid-2000s.
Strawberry Haze carries an enticing aroma of ripe strawberries with floral undertones, translating into a flavor that is often described as sweet and earthy. According to Green House Seed Co., which carries feminized seeds for Arjan’s Strawberry Haze, this strain produces a mild body high and strong cerebral effects, making this an appealing option for tokers who want a creative or social buzz.
